Community Social Worker
Our community social worker provides outreach support to Hudson residents. This position has many roles, including:
Referrals for outreach services such as: mental health, housing, financial assistance, etc.
Assistance with advocating for current needs and human rights
Implementing interventions and crisis planning to mitigate risk for individuals
Clinical consultation for individuals and families in need of support.
MetroWest Moves
MetroWest Moves is a regional Mass in Motion program to facilitate opportunities for people who live, work, and play in Hudson, Framingham, Marlborough, and Northborough, to engage in healthy eating and active, smoke-free living. Hudson Health Department is the lead agency for this initiative.
Our department also oversees the Hudson Farmers' Market, located at Hudson Town Hall.
Substance Misuse Prevention Program
In 2012, the Hudson Health Department engaged various community stakeholders and formed the Hudson Youth Substance Abuse Coalition. Read More >
MetroWest Prevention & Wellness Partnership
With the establishment of the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund in July 2012, the Massachusetts Legislature set forth a challenge to communities across the Commonwealth: reduce health care costs by preventing chronic conditions.
In January 2014, nine communities were awarded grants through the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund. Hudson Health Department, partnered with a number of regional organizations, was one of the nine awardees. Read More >
Community Health Needs Assessment
Since 2013, Hudson Health Department has been collaborating with the MetroWest Health Foundation and a number of healthcare and community organizations to conduct our regional community health needs assessments. The assessments help guide our program priorities with our limited resources.
